He breaks down the door and bursts through, breathing hard. Airi is there, standing inside. Good. She's safe.
She slowly turns her head and looks at him. "Oh," she says, smiling like always, "Sakurai-kun. You came to pick me up again."
"Are you hurt?"
She shakes her head. Good. She looks back up at the ceiling.
"The pattern on the ceiling looks like constellations," she says. "When I look at that, I remember what I had forgotten yesterday..."
His eyes widen. It couldn't be--
"I wanted to protect the shop because it's everything to us," she says simply. "For me... and Ryoutarou... and..."
She slowly looks at him again. He waits. He can't say a word.
"And... one more... I think... one more..."
She stares at him for a long while. He looks back at her. Waiting. Hoping.
"Yuuto..."
He starts. She remembers. She walks slowly over to him, gazing at him in wonder. Slowly, she reaches one hand up to touch his face.
She remembers me.
There's a sudden crash from outside, interrupting. He has to leave, has to go help. He turns back to Airi, putting his hands on her shoulders. "Nogami will be here for you later. Stay there!" His voice is higher than normal, almost desperate. Then he runs out.
--
He runs onto the scene, belt in hand.
"Fool! Cards aren't mementos. If they're not used when needed, they're worthless!"
It's a sacrifice. But he knows what he has to do.
"Henshin!"
--
"One more... Huh? One more? Me... and Ryoutarou... and Grandmother?"
She counts on her fingers, confused. She can't remember what she was talking about before.
--
After the battle, he's alone in the factory with Deneb.
"Yuuto..." Deneb says, aghast.
Yuuto doesn't move. He can't move. He's alone again once more.
Then Yuuto wakes up with a start. When he remembers what he just dreamed of, he groans and punches his pillow.
